DECT NR+ as simple as Wi-Fi!

A DECT NR+ system with a central base station (FT) and one or more clients (PTs), built on a fully IP-based architecture for all use cases.

The goal: deliver a Wi-Fi-like experience while benefiting from DECT NR+ strengths:

  • reliable connectivity
  • strong coverage
  • scheduled access in licence-exempt 1.9GHz band
  • energy-efficient operation

At the core is the nRF9151 modem combined with an ARM host running embedded Linux. The architecture is designed for flexibility, allowing the host to be swapped (Ethernet Shields, i.MX, SMT etc.) depending on the application without redesigning the overall system. Both the Linux and Zephyr IP stack can be part of the system architecture, while the DECT NR+ stack is abstracted as an L2 device in Zephyr. More to come soon.
